Halden Canal is the oldest channel system with a vertical drop of 40 meters. It has been trafficked every year since 1877. The channel is a Norwegian natural and cultural pearl, and a monument to the great canal builder Engebret Soot. He stood for engineering and construction of the Halden Canal. The genious from Aurskog Høland proved that his theory was correct by building canals / waterways transport route between the lakes in Haldenvassdraget.

In this process, you can experience all of what Norwegian nature has to offer. The big lakes, narrow canals, locks and high green grass. You get to see small farms, grazing cows and sheep, the open landscape and the vast forests - that leans way into the watercourse. All this forms a great setting for MS Brekke on their silent journey through Haldenvassdraget.
