Nature experiences

In and around the Halden Canal there is opportunities for many great nature experiences. If you are lucky you can see both beaver and osprey in the Halden Canal. Perhaps you will see one glimpt of wild boar or elk. Just to float down the Halden Canal in a canoe and spend the night in one of the many bivouacs provides the batteries with new energy.

But you will experience the great outdoors - you have to get there.

Halden canal is a paradise for those who would like to use a canoe or kayak. The channel is 80 km long, and there are several places to rent canoes. Bring your kids, your boyfriend / girlfriens or friends. You can choose between a short little tour or a trip lasting several days.

There are many campsites with shelters along Halden Canal and surrounding areas. Here it is the "first come first served" principle. Some have toilet. Some only have access from the water, some are a bit from the water, but most are located along the canal.

In the Halden canal area there are many good fishing spots and great diversity of fish. Here you can catch the really big pike in the canal, and there are several smaller ponds and forest lakes where you can catch both perch and trout. See more info on the right.
