Hankø - Spa, hotel and summer idyll

Spa, hotel and summer idyll on Hankø

Hankø Hotel and Spa can offer a surrounding of large woods, shimmering ocean, beaches and rocky shores. A place to really let your shoulders down.

For 140 years Hankø has been a popular destination for boat enthusiasts, not to mention sailors. A safe harbour protected from strong weathers, alongside a hotel offering all facilities. Here you can enjoy a nice meal, relax in the spa, play a round of tennis or mini golf or use the hiking tracks, the sandy beach of Trouville or enjoy the sun on the costal rocks.

This small, yet large, island has vast hiking areas both in the woods and along the shores. While out walking you are guaranteed to meet some of the locals, meaning one of the 200 fallow deer living here.

All through summer there are activities and events at Hankø, whether it is the great atmosphere at Seilkroa or one of many regattas. In August the World Cup in 8-Metre sailing is held here. 27th May the hotel celebrates its 140th anniversary by arranging a concert with Odd René Andersen and Marianne Antonsen. 15th July the tribute show, George Michæl, is one with Gaute Ormåsen, Ulrikke Brandstorp and Bjørn Halstensens orchestra.

It is easy to stay active at Hankø, weather you use one of the tennis courts, the climbing wall at Håbaugen, go horse riding on one of the two Arabian horses that belong to the hotel, or bring your whole sports team on a camp trip. Here you will find an indoor sports arena ready for handball, basket, bandy and other sports. Outside there is a football field and possibilities for chess and canoe.

There is little that beats a wedding at Hankø. Undisturbed and private as only an island can be. The hotel even has its own wedding chapel, so both the ceremony and the party can be held at the same place.

All year round Hankø Hotel and Spa is a popular place for conferences and large gatherings. But also for couples and families wanting a relaxing weekend in unique surroundings with lovely food and recreation for everyone.
